Obituary of William J. McGill

Age 86, of Bridgeville, from natural causes, on August 17, 2013. Bill was born in Kirwan Heights, PA, the son of the late Caroline (Harmuth) and Thomas McGill. Bill served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. He graduated with a degree in history from Duquesne University, and worked for Equitable Gas as manager of their sales division for much of his career. Bill was a devoted husband and father who lived his life with integrity, and whose last years, marked by health challenges, were a profile in courage. He will be greatly missed by his family. Beloved husband of the late Marie J. (Maisch) McGill; loving father of Margaret P. (Michael Nixon) McGill, Thomas L. McGill, Daniel M. McGill, Matthew J. (Chinalaine) McGill, Christine M. (Dan) Taylor and Julie A. (Matt) May; Brother of Jean (McGill) Meyer and Kathleen (McGill) Bonardi, Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law of Paul E. (Bonnie) Maisch; grandfather of Zachary McGill, Alexis Taylor, Benjamin May, Leandra McGill, Lauren Taylor and Sydney May. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-6 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Holy Child Parish. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the Bridgeville Area Food Bank.
