Obituary of James Anthony Liska

James Anthony Liska, fondly known as Jim, beloved husband of Judy for 64 years, father, grandfather and great grandfather, peacefully passed away on October 26, 2024 at the age of 86. Jim was born to Anthony and Henrietta Liska on March 28, 1938 in Dunlo, Pennsylvania. Jim was a mechanic with Mohwak, Allegheny, USAir and USAirways. His aviation career spanned over 50 years doing what he loved. From mechanic, to lead mechanic, to foreman, Jim contributed to the growth of aviation in Pittsburgh. His dedication and expertise was evident in helping design and build the first Jet Engine Test Cell at the airport for USAir. In addition to his career, he was a proud member of Corpus Christi Parish, Knights of Columbus, a veteran of the US Navy Reserve, and a talented musician and a part of the Ringgold Band. In retirement, Jim continued his love for aviation with the WCMAA model airplane flying club. He is survived by his loving wife Judy of 64 years, children Anthony and (Donna) Liska, Mike and (Karen) Liska, Jennifer Liska, Amy Liska, Jamie (Jeff) (Liska) Waldbillig. He will be deeply missed by his 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who were his pride and joy. James leaves behind a profound legacy of boundless love and unwavering dedication to his cherished family. Jim imparted wisdom by sharing stories and life lessons with his children. These stories will live on in their hearts, a cherished legacy of a life well lived. The void left by his passing will echo with the melodies of his spirit, forever etched in the hearts of those who were touched by his presence. Family and friends received on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333).
