Obituary of Rochelle C. Battistone

At the age of 89, Rochelle Battistone of Mt. Lebanon passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 1st. Rochelle was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Dominick, her son Dominick Jeffrey, her brothers Alfred and Anthony and her parents Flaviano (Fred) and Carmella DiYenno DeBlasio. Rochelle is survived by her children, Carla Muggio of Longboat Key FL and Mt. Lebanon and Christopher Battistone (Kelli), of Evans City PA, two grandchildren, Dominick, and Raymond Battistone, also of Evans City and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Lawrence PA in October 1933 and graduated from Cecil High School. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and outings with her friends, but most of all, spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Mt. Lebanon and Gallagher Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at WARCHOL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412) 221-3333. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Parish (Our Lady of Grace Church) 310 Kane Blvd, Pittsburgh PA 15243 on Monday at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice.
