Obituary of David Piecka

Piecka David Age 63, of Bridgeville, suddenly on May 5, 2022. Beloved husband of Joyce (Cengia) Boothman, loving father of Julia Piecka, brother of Andrew (Barbara) Piecka,III, Gary Piecka, Jon Piecka and Joan (Tom) Cathell, son-in-law of Shirley (late Virgil) Cengia, brother-in-law of Paul (Cinda) Cengia, stepfather of Justin (Heather) Shadish and Kristin (Paul) Burdick, loving “Pap” of Colton, Camden, and Aubrey, also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Piecka was a 1981 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied music. He was a founding member of the River City Brass Band, where he was the principal French Horn for 40 years. He also worked as a paraprofessional, at Upper St. Clair High School. Dave was a dedicated amateur meteorologist who friends and coworkers often consulted for weather predictions in hopes of a snow cancellation or two-hour delay. During his summers off Dave enjoyed biking, grilling, watching the Pirates and especially the annual family beach vacation. Friends received Monday, May 16, from 4-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 17, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Mt.
